Indian Bureaucracy, New Delhi, July 14, 2025 | Shri Saumitra Priya Srivastava, currently Executive Director (Corporate Strategy) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), has been recommended for the post of Director (Marketing), IOCL. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) made this recommendation on July 14, 2025, during its 59th meeting. Shri Srivastava was among twelve candidates interviewed for this key position within the Schedule A public sector undertaking.
Shri Saumitra Priya Srivastava is a Civil Engineering graduate from IIT Roorkee with an Executive MBA from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. He joined Indian Oil Corporation in 1993, bringing over three decades of experience, primarily in LPG and Retail Business.
His career at IndianOil includes many leadership roles, such as Head of the Retail Transformation Group and leading Retail Business operations across North and East India. He also headed divisional offices in New Delhi and Mumbai within the Sales function and managed sales for Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the entire states of Maharashtra and Goa.
Currently serving as Executive Director (Corporate Strategy), Shri Srivastava spearheads the company’s strategic initiatives. He is recognized for his collaborative and results-oriented leadership and has overseen numerous transformation projects, including Non-Fuel Convenience Store initiatives, the Dhruva Retail Transformation project, and various technology and digitalization ventures. He has a proven record of driving business growth, increasing profitability, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
The extensive list of candidates interviewed for the Director (Marketing) post included several Executive Directors from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, such as Shri Vetrivel Charkravarthy Asokan (Retail Sales), Shri Jitendra Kumar (State Head), Shri Hemant Kumar Rathore (UPSO II), Shri Bibhuti Ranjan Pradhan (CD & CSR), Shri Mathew Varghese (Delhi State Office), and Shri Rajesh Singh (State Head).
In addition to IndianOil’s executives, the interview panel met with notable candidates from other public sector enterprises, including Shri Pushp Kumar Nayar (ED, HRD, BPCL), Shri Biju Gopinath (ED, Pipelines, BPCL), Dr. Alok Badkul (ED & CEO FHEL, Container Corporation of India Limited), Shri Girija Shankar (Chief General Manager & MD, Green Gas Ltd, GAIL India Limited), and Shri Jatinderjit Singh Mann (Additional GM, Marketing/Consultancy & Head of RDSS-J&K, NTPC Limited).
Shri Srivastava’s recommendation now awaits approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) before his official appointment to the Director (Marketing) role at IOCL.
