Shri Pallav Gopal Jha, IAS, is a senior civil servant with a strong academic foundation in science and significant experience in public administration and financial governance. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Chemistry from the University of Delhi, where he secured First Division.
He underwent professional training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, which provided him with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of public administration. His training and subsequent experience have contributed to his development as an administrator handling important government responsibilities.
Since December 2023, Shri Pallav Gopal Jha has been serving as Secretary-Cum-Commissioner in the Taxes Department, Government of Assam. The position involves important responsibilities relating to taxation administration, revenue management and financial governance. It requires coordination across various levels of government and a comprehensive understanding of the State’s fiscal administration.
In his present assignment, he contributes to the effective functioning of Assam’s taxation and revenue systems. His role places him within an important segment of the State’s financial administration, where policy implementation, institutional coordination and administrative efficiency remain essential.
