ONGC promotes Saksham 2017- Awareness Programme

In line with the Government’s Vision, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has embarked on a month-long oil and gas conservation campaign, christened as Saksham, in its Corporate Office as well a work centres all over. This is first time that the Government has changed the campaign format from Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight (OGCF) to Saksham for creating a strong brand towards fuel conservation.

Hon’ble Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Dharamendra Pradhan inaugurated the month long awareness drive on fuel conservation (Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav) on January 16th, 2017 organized by PCRA and other Oil & Gas PSUs emphasizing on the need for self-sufficiency in the oil and gas sector.

As a part of Saksham, more than 5 lakhs school children and youth will be actively involved in the awareness drive and programmes associated with it.

Celebrating Saksham, ONGC has devised various awareness programmes to popularize this energy awareness campaign amongst the employees, their families and the local populace in its area of operations. Pan India campaigns like Sit & Draw and Slogan Competition apart from Cyclothon, Walkathon etc. are being organized at all work-centers of ONGC to actively engage employees.

As a Responsible Corporate Citizen, ONGC has also accorded a special grant-in-aid to PCRA for this program. This campaign aims to create awareness among masses towards judicious utilization and conservation of petroleum products along with use of energy efficient appliances and switching to cleaner fuels.

ONGC has been enthusiastically promoting Saksham and is spreading awareness about fuel conservation.
