Shri Om Prakash Rawat former IAS (Madhya Pradesh 1977) who superannuated in December 2014 as Secretary, Government of India has been appointed as Election commissioner, New Delhi. He will have a tenure of more than three years which will end in December, 2018 till he attains the age of 65. Shri Rawat served as Director in the Defence Ministry GOI, Principal Secretary to Babu Lal Gaur, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. He has also been awarded by state government’s ‘recognition of forest rights’ in 2009.
