NTPC Ltd, India’s largest power generation company, has been bestowed with the ‘Best Performing Power Generation Company’ 2019 award, at the Dun & Bradstreet Infra 2019 awards, held in New Delhi.General (retd) Dr. VK Singh, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, GOI presented the award to Shri Prakash Tiwari, Director (Operations), NTPC during the function.The best Performing Power Generation Company award has been awarded to NTPC for its robust operational performance. NTPC’s five power stations were among India’s top ten best performing power stations in the country in the year 2018-19. NTPC has established itself as the dominant power major with presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. From fossil fuels it has forayed into generating electricity through hydro and renewable energy sources.
NTPC has been operating its plants at high efficiency levels with about 15% of the total national capacity, NTPC contributes nearly 22% of total power generation with its focus on high efficiency.
