Dr Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD,NLCIL will inaugurate the ““Anandam” a old age home at Neyveli for the destitute senior citizens ,being provided under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives on 15.08.2017.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
NLCIL has been taking up many works under its CSR programmes. The Sneha Oppurtunity Services(SOS) for the special Children at Neyveli, Nutricious Diet for the persons affected with HI Virus ,extending help for maintenance of home for the differently abled, are some of the social works carried out by NLCIL. Accordingly a Home for the Destitute Senior Citizens at Block-6, near the General Hospital of NLCIL, named as “Anandham” is to function from 15.08.2017. Hitherto Nurses hostel has been modified to suit the requirements of the senior citizens. The Cots, Furnitures, Cooking utensils, Television Sets and other gadgets for entertainment has been procured at Rs.1 Crore.

NLCIL has been contributing considerably to various the old age homes run by the Non-Governmental organization. one among them is the HelpAge India. The Destitute Home for the Senior Citizen Änandham””will function under the association of the CSR Cell of NLCIL and the HelpAge India. Initially 100 destitute Women and Men above the age of 62 years will be admitted in the home. These numbers will increase to 150 individuals subsequently. Free Food , Accommodation and other recurring monthly expenditure for these senior citizens of the home is to be met by the voluntary contributions from the employees of NLCIL and the CSR cell of the company
How to Avail?
Applications from Women and Men above 62 years without son, own house, plot or other properties are eligible to apply. Pensioners & those with pending criminal cases are forbidden from applying. Eligible individuals can apply to The General Manager(CSR),Central Technical Office(CTO),Block-1,Neyveli-607 801 with proof of Age, and photocopies of Family Card, Voters’Identity and Aadhaar Details.The committee constituted for running the home “Anandham”will select the individuals.
INAGUARATION
CMD will inaugurate Änandham”, the home for the Destitute Senior Citizens on 15.08.2017 Índependence Day’2017, in the presence of the Functional Directors, the CVO and officials of the HelpAge India.
