NLC celebrated 126th Birth Anniversary of Dr.Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar at Neyveli. Shri V.Thangapandian, Director (Power), Shri P. Selvakumar Director (Planning & Projects) of NLC paid floral tributes by garlanding Dr. Ambedkar’s bronze statue at Pudukuppam Junction,Neyveli. Shri N.Muthu, ED(HR), and Senior officials of NLC graced the occasion.
In his address, Shri V.Thangapandian recalled the contributions made by Dr. Ambedkar for social equality, by giving example of Gandhiji and he explained how both faced racial and social discrimination in their early life. He highlighted, how they confronted with ill practices of society and brought changes with their determined work. They inspired crores of people and reached highest positions in Society.
He said,. Every individual should draw inspiration from them, to face failures and make them in to stepping stones for success in life and need to reach highest status of life by accepting failures, he added,. Shri.P Selvakumar in his speech informed how Dr. Ambedkar kept efforts throughout his life for the upliftment of the downtrodden and brought changes in the society.
Shri A.Subramanyam, CGM/Thermal,NLC and the senior member of NLC SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Federation garlanded the Statue of Ambedkar on behalf of the Federation . Shri S.M Navaneeth Raja,President and other office bearers of the Federation spoke on the occasion. Senior officials, employees, Office Bearers of NLC SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Federation, Trade Unions & Welfare Associations and public in large number from all walks of life participated in the celebrations and paid tributes.The function ended with planting of tree saplings by Directors ,senior officials and office bearers in the premises of Federation Building.
