Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya , CMD ,NLC India Limited felicitated the children of Sneha Opportunity Services, a School of Mentally Challenged for winning medals in the District Level Sports & Games Meet 2016 -17 for differently abled students, organised by Sports Development Authority of
Tamilnadu (SDAT) held at Cuddalore on 09.11.2016. Students from Sneha Opportunity Services (SOS), a society functioning under the aegis of NLC India Limited participated in various events and overcoming their severe disability, lion-hearted sportspersons won four medals in events like Throw ball , Shot -Put, and Running and fetched glory to NLC India Limited.
The District Sports &Youth Welfare Officer, Cuddalore organized this event where in about 100 special children’s including physically challenged, visually impaired, hearing impaired & mentally challenged from different parts of the District participated in the meet. In the Meet at group level , Throw ball team of SoS won Gold medal and at individual level Master Bala Subramanyam , won Gold Medal in Shot-put and Master Bharathan won Silver and Bronze Medal in 100 Mts and 50 Mts respectively..
Sneha School Students, who excelled at the meet, were also qualified to represent Cuddalore District in the State level sports meet for differently abled persons.
In a special function organized at Sneha Opportunity Services, Neyveli, on 11.11.2016 Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD, NLC IL and Smt.Yoga Maya Acharya, the President of SOS participated and congratulated students for their achievement and blessed them for future performance.
