Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Highlights India’s tech advancements in defense at Indian Military Heritage festival

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, spoke about India’s significant strides in the defense sector at the Indian Military Heritage Festival. He emphasized that India is now armed with state-of-the-art technology and advanced weaponry, and is actively embracing disruptive technologies such as Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security.

Dr. Jitendra Singh pointed out that India’s armed forces are no longer reliant on outdated weaponry. Instead, they now employ cutting-edge tools, including drones, heliborne operations, and UAVs. India’s readiness to venture into new frontiers of technology, such as Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence, is positioning the country as a global technology leader in the defense sector.

He highlighted that India is among the elite group of seven nations worldwide employing Quantum Technology. The Indian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has launched the National Quantum Mission in this regard.

Dr. Singh drew attention to various technological initiatives across India dedicated to enhancing defense capabilities through disruptive technologies.

Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized that these disruptive technologies are continually evolving and will play an increasingly critical role in military operations, necessitating their adaptation for maintaining military superiority and national security.

He applauded the current era as one of remarkable progress in science, technology, and innovation under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. India’s achievements, including Chandrayaan-3, Aditya L1, and COVID vaccines, have enhanced the country’s global image. Prime Minister Modi’s leadership on the international stage, as exemplified by the recent G20 Summit in New Delhi, demonstrates India’s readiness to lead on various global issues.

Dr. Jitendra Singh praised India’s commitment to the Global Biofuels Alliance and welcomed the African Union’s inclusion in the G20, highlighting the nation’s transformation into a global leader under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance. The G20 has effectively evolved into the G21, and India, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, is poised to lead the world in various domains.
