Shri Nimbalkar Santosh Uttamrao IPS (West Bengal 2009), presently DIG- Jalpaiguri Range, has been transferred and posted as DIG- Raiganj Range, West Bengal.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) – Raiganj Range is a senior Indian Police Service officer responsible for supervising and coordinating policing operations across the Raiganj Range under the West Bengal Police. The range covers districts in North Bengal such as Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, and Malda, areas that present diverse law and order challenges including cross-border security, communal harmony, and crime prevention.
The DIG provides strategic leadership to district Superintendents of Police, monitors major investigations, and ensures the implementation of state policing policies at the range level. The role also involves coordinating intelligence inputs, managing sensitive situations, and working with local civil administration during elections, festivals, and emergencies. By fostering effective communication with subordinate units and promoting community engagement initiatives, the DIG – Raiganj Range plays a pivotal role in strengthening grassroots policing, enhancing public safety, and maintaining peace and stability across the region.
