NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company has been awarded with ‘SILVER’ level of recognition in 2018 World Healthy Workplace Award 2018 instituted by Arogya World India Trust in partnership with Public Health Foundation of India. Dr. Kamla Fartyal, CGM (Medical Services), NHPC received the award on behalf of NHPC at Arogya Worlds 2018 Healthy Workplace Conference held at Bengaluru from 14th to 15th November 2018.
The award recognizes NHPC’s outstanding initiatives towards creating a healthy workplace for employees. Some of these measures include no smoking areas, hygienic canteen food, yoga centres, extensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities including gymnasiums, organizing inter and intra departmental sports tournaments and also participating in inter CPSUs sports tournaments etc. The award also recognizes NHPC’s initiatives towards maintaining of work-life balance through facilities/ policies as in-house crèche service, training programmes on health and stress management, practicing proper workplace ergonomics, special leave policies, organizing of medical camps, health and environmental talks and programs for communities in the vicinity of its power stations/ projects/ units etc.
