Government has said that National Highways Authority of India projects will generate around 50 Crore man-days employment over next four years. This will be nearly 12.5 crore man-days yearly from 2018 to 2022. Transport Ministry in a release said, of this, about one crore will be professional man-days, 3.5 crore skilled labour and 8.0 crore semi-skilled and un-skilled man days.
It said, NHAI currently has 282 projects having length of about 20 thousand kilometre under implementation across the country, out of which 10 thousand kilometre of length is targeted to be completed over next two years.
The Ministry said, to meet the requirement of professionals, skilled and semi-skilled work force, NHAI has undertaken an elaborate exercise for Skill Development.
