NGT bans construction, waste burning in Delhi

National Green Tribunal NGT banned construction and industrial activities in Delhi-NCR till Tuesday.It directed that no trucks from outside or within Delhi will be permitted to transport any construction material. NGS also issued direction for sprinkling of water where Suspended Particulate Matter is found to be in excess of 600 micrograms per cubic metre.
The Tribunal asked authorities to implement Environment Pollution (Prevention & Control) Authority for the National Capital Region EPCA’s directions to improve ambient air quality.NGT also directed civic bodies to constitute teams to ensure there is no burning of waste in Delhi-NCR.

NGT also directed civic bodies to constitute teams to ensure there is no burning of waste in Delhi-NCR. Meanwhile NHRC sends notices to Centre, govts of Delhi, Punjab and Haryana on “life-threatening” pollution in Delhi-NCR.
