Naval exercises between Japan and the United States began in the Western Pacific near waters around the Korean peninsula. In a statement, Japan’s Maritime Self Defence Force said that the two warships will practice a variety of tactics in response to rising tension over North Korea.
Meanwhile, North Korea said that it is ready to sink a U.S. aircraft carrier to demonstrate its military might.The situation near the Korean Peninsula has escalated recently, following several missile and nuclear tests carried out by Pyongyang. The international community, including the regional countries, such as Japan, has repeatedly condemned North Korea’s military activities.
