Panchapatmali Bauxite Mines of National Aluminium Company (NALCO), a Navratna PSU, under Ministry of Mines, bagged a rich haul of awards in multiple categories at the 36 th Annual Metallic Ferrous Mines Safety Week celebration held at Sukinda, Odisha. NALCO was recognised and awarded in multiple categories including General working (South Block Mines), Mechanical maintenance (C & N block), Safety & Compliance (C & N block), Safety Stall renovation (C & N block) and on Swachatta (South Block Mines).
Apart from the group award, employees of the Company’s Mines division at Damanjodi also won individual prizes in Mishri Lal Memorial Competition. Sri P.L Mohanta was recognised as the Best Supervisor while Sri T. Aminon bagged an award in the Best HEMM Operator category.
Congratulating the Mines collective, Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD said ,” NALCO’s Panchapatmali Bauxite Mines is recognised the world over for its productivity, safety and state of the art technology. Presently, NALCO’s Bauxite Mines is the second lowest cost producer of Bauxite in the world and we are making all out effort to make our Mines the lowest cost producer.”
This year Safety Week was celebrated under the aegis of Director General Mines Safety (DGMS) Bhubaneswar Region in which 34 Mines of Bhubaneswar region had participated.
