Shri N K Jain, Director (Personnel), NHPC, India’s premier hydropower utility has been conferred ‘Award of Excellence’ by University of Engineering and Management, Jaipur. The award has been given to Shri Jain in due recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of Human Resource Management. NHPC has witnessed several key HR initiatives and achievements under Shri Jain as Revision of pay of executive, supervisors and workmen, ‘Contract Labour Payment Management System web portal’ ensuring transparency, NHPC Sabbatical Scheme, Lien Scheme for NHPC Executives for Below Board Level Posts, Implementation of Online Human Resource Management System (HRMS) in Integration with Finance Division (consisting of online employee data administration, employee self-service, exit procedure for terminal benefits, talent management, etc.) etc. Shri Jain is also looking after execution of NHPC’s CSR-SD scheme, wherein NHPC has organized skill development training for 3000 youth in association with NSDC across 17 locations in the country besides other CSR activities in the areas of Healthcare, Education, Rural Development, skill development, Environment sustainability, Women Empowerment, Promotion of sports, arts & culture etc.
Shri Jain has over 3 decades of rich and varied experience in HR. Prior to joining NHPC in February 2017, Shri Jain was holding the post of Director (Personnel) of Air India Limited. Shri Jain possesses a distinguished academic career and has done his B.E. (Industrial Engineering) from IIT Roorkee and LL.B from Delhi University. He joined the Indian Railways as an Indian Railways Personnel Services Officer in 1988. Shri Jain has worked at different levels in the Railways and as GGM HR in the IRCTC and as Executive Director (Joint Secretary) in the Ministry of Railways.
