Shri Mukesh Jain IPS (Madhya Pradesh 1989) presently Joint Secretary & CEO, National Trust, Department of
Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)  has been given extension of Central deputation tenure for a period of three months beyond 20.01.2018, i.e., upto 20.04.2018.

Shri Mukesh Jain obtained his Bachelor of Engineering Degree with Gold Medal from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.  Further to this, he received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the premier Business School of the country, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.  He has also received Master of Public Administration from the prestigious Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA.  During the study at Harvard, he obtained the Mason Fellowship from the Harvard University and he was recipient of prestigious “The Raymond & Josephine Vernon Book Award”and the“Litteaur Fellow Award” of Harvard University.

2. As an IPS officer, he held many challenging assignments in the State of Madhya Pradesh, which included Supdt. of Police, Raisen and Mandsaur Districts.  He was Inspector General of Police at Bhopal, in the Criminal Investigation Department of MP Police. He has been on central deputation since 2011. He was Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power in the year 2013-14 and was Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)[DEPwD], Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment., from Nov. 2014 to October 2016.

3.A voracious reader, Shri Mukesh Jain has authored many books, which includes a book on good governance titled “Excellence in Government – A Blueprint for Reinventing the Government”.

4.Shri Jain was leading Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan), a campaign to create universal accessibility for persons with disabilities, which was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 3rd December, 2015 on the occasion of International Day for Persons with Disabilities.
