Union Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Shri Narayan Rane, announced that the PM Vishwakarma scheme has garnered more than 1.40 lakh applications just ten days after its launch.

In a tweet, Shri Rane attributed this success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership. He emphasized the scheme’s significance and its potential to empower socially and economically underprivileged Vishwakarma individuals. The scheme aims to revive their long-awaited identity by providing training, tool kits, and collateral-free loans.

Under the program, 18 types of artisans and craftsmen will receive skill training, a daily stipend of 500 rupees during training, and 15,000 rupees to purchase tool kits. Beneficiaries will also have access to collateral-free loans of up to 3 lakhs, fostering enhanced production capacity and market access for traditional artisans and craftspersons, both domestically and globally.
