Smt Minu Shukla Pathak IRS (C&IT 2009), presently Additional Director, Directorate General of GST Intelligence, Meerut Zonal Unit, Meerut, is placed on Central Deputation and appointed as Secretary – National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), Ministry of Cooperation, under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years.

India has a vast cooperative network spanning multiple sectors of the economy. With over 8 lakh cooperative societies operating across 29 sectors, these institutions play a crucial role in economic development. Leading cooperatives like IFFCO and Amul contribute around 4.5% to India’s GDP, while KRIBHCO, NAFED, and Saraswat Cooperative Bank, with its 302 branches and over 341 ATMs, exemplify the scalability and efficiency of the cooperative model. These organisations not only ensure quality output but also generate significant direct and indirect employment, reinforcing the cooperative sector’s potential for sustainable growth and capacity building.

The National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), under the Ministry of Cooperation, is the apex body responsible for training in the cooperative sector. It formulates training policies, conducts needs assessments, and manages institutions like VAMNICOM, RICMs, and ICMs to enhance the skills of cooperative personnel. Through targeted training programs and research initiatives, NCCT supports capacity building and sectoral growth, strengthening the cooperative movement in India.
