Addressing Emissions Ahead of COP28: Minister Singh emphasized the need for developed countries to lead in reducing emissions. He highlighted India’s commitment to meeting electricity needs responsibly and achieving renewable energy targets.
Transformation of the Power Sector: Singh showcased the sector’s transformation, adding 1.9 lakh MW power capacity in the last nine years. The national grid now connects the entire country, with improved power availability in rural and urban areas. India leads globally in adding renewable energy capacity.
Participation: Central Public Sector Enterprises, including NTPC, PGCIL, NHPC, REC, PFC, THDC, SJVN, BEE, EESL, and CES, actively participate in showcasing sector initiatives.
