Shri Milind Dharmrao Ramteke, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2009 batch from the Tripura cadre, is a distinguished administrator known for his dynamic leadership, strategic policymaking, and commitment to social development. With a background in medicine (M.B.B.S.) from Amravati University, he brings a unique blend of expertise in healthcare, urban development, and governance to his administrative roles.
Recently empanelled as Joint Secretary, Shri Ramteke is currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), New Delhi, where he plays a key role in promoting entrepreneurship, supporting small businesses, and driving economic growth. His strategic vision is instrumental in fostering policies that empower small enterprises and contribute to India’s economic progress.
Prior to this, he held several critical positions at the central level, including as Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, where he worked on policies related to social welfare, inclusion, and empowerment of marginalized communities. His tenure as Deputy Director at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, showcased his dedication to training and mentoring future civil servants, shaping the next generation of bureaucratic leadership.
In Tripura, Shri Ramteke has been a key architect of urban development and district administration, having served as Commissioner, Mission Director, and Director in the Urban Development Department. His leadership was pivotal in infrastructure development, municipal governance, and city planning, enhancing the quality of urban life. As District Magistrate of West Tripura and Dhalai, he spearheaded land revenue management, disaster response, and administrative reforms, ensuring efficient service delivery at the grassroots level.
His extensive experience also includes serving as Municipal Commissioner & CEO of Urban Development in Tripura, where he contributed to smart city initiatives and urban infrastructure projects. His early career roles as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Assistant Collector in Tripura built a strong foundation in governance, law enforcement, and public administration.
