Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar joined several lawmakers and senior officials here to participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations held this morning.In a special event held at Dr Shama Prasad Mukherjee stadium, Parrikar performed some ‘asanas’ along with fellow cabinet colleagues and others including State Chief Secretary Dharmendra Sharma.
“We should practice yoga every day and it’s not just for physical fitness but mental well being too. We need to make yoga part of our routine culture,” Parrikar said in his short speech after inaugurating the event.
The Chief Minister also took on to Twitter to commemorate the day.”Yoga help us live healthier lives. Greetings on #InternationalYogaDay#,” he tweeted.Various schools across the state also conducted yoga sessions before beginning classes in the morning.
