Shri Mangesh Ghildiyal IAS (Uttarakhand 2012) presently Deputy Secretary in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has been given extension in central deputation tenure for a period beyond 01.10.2025 till 31.03.2026 by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Shri Mangesh Ghildiyal, IAS, is a distinguished civil servant of exceptional caliber who has consistently demonstrated dedication, intellect, and leadership in every responsibility he has undertaken. He is presently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), New Delhi, where his tenure has been marked by efficiency, strategic insight, and a deep commitment to public service. An academic achiever, Shri Ghildiyal has an exemplary educational background. He earned his B.Sc. in Physics from Kumaun University, Uttarakhand, securing first division with distinction from PNG Govt. Post Graduate College, Ramnagar. He further pursued M.Sc. in Physics from DSB Campus, Nainital, again passing with distinction, and later completed his M.Tech. in Physics from Devi Ahilya University, Indore, excelling with distinction. His academic excellence has laid a strong foundation for his analytical approach and problem-solving skills in governance.
Beginning his administrative journey at LBSNAA, Mussoorie, Shri Ghildiyal went on to serve with great dedication as District Collector of Bageshwar, where he worked tirelessly to strengthen land revenue management and district administration. His grassroots administrative experience has shaped his practical understanding of governance and public welfare.
Since 2020, his association with the Prime Minister’s Office has placed him at the heart of policy-making and governance at the national level. Rising from Under Secretary to Deputy Secretary, he has played a vital role in personnel management and cabinet affairs.
