Maj Gen Lisamma PV assumed the appointment of Additional Director General (ADG), Military Nursing Service (MNS) in New Delhi on 01 May 2025. She took over the reins from Maj Gen Sheena PD, who superannuated on 30 April 2025 after an illustrious service of four decades, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and leadership in military nursing.
Hailing from Kollam district in Kerala, Maj Gen Lisamma PV is an alumna of the School of Nursing, Military Hospital, Jalandhar. She was commissioned into the MNS in 1986 and has since built a distinguished career blending clinical excellence, academic accomplishment, and administrative leadership. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Law, along with a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration—credentials that have complemented her professional expertise and broadened her leadership capabilities.
Over the years, Maj Gen Lisamma has served in several prestigious appointments, demonstrating her versatility and dedication. Her roles have included Principal of the College of Nursing at Command Hospital Air Force, Bengaluru; Principal Matron at Command Hospital (Eastern Command); Brigadier MNS at Headquarters Eastern Command; Brigadier MNS (Admin) at Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence; and most recently, Principal Matron at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi. Her vast experience and commitment to excellence make her well-suited to lead the Military Nursing Service into its next chapter, with a focus on enhancing professional standards, compassionate care, and operational readiness.
