Indian Bureaucracy News, Mumbai, June 23, 2026 | The Maharashtra Government on Tuesday carried out a significant reshuffle in the state’s police establishment, issuing four separate orders affecting ten senior IPS officers across the ranks of Director General (DG), Additional Director General (ADG), Inspector General (IG) and Superintendent of Police (SP).
The exercise witnessed key leadership changes in the Maharashtra State Police Housing & Welfare Corporation, Legal & Technical Department, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Nagpur Police Commissionerate, with several officers exchanging positions in what appears to be an administrative realignment. Notably, senior IPS officer Vishwas Nangare Patil was appointed Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City, while incumbent CP Ravinder Kumar Singal moved to the Anti-Corruption Bureau as ADG. The state also promoted Dattatray Shinde IPS to the rank of Inspector General of Police and posted him as IG, State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Pune. Besides the senior-level changes, the reshuffle included a series of transfers at the SP, DCP and SPS levels across Nanded, Hingoli, Pune, Navi Mumbai, Sambhaji Nagar, Nagpur and Amravati.
Details of the officers with their present and new assignments is listed below.
- Shri Sanjay Kumar Verma IPS (Maharashtra1990), presently at DG Rank and posted as Director General, (Legal & Technical), at Mumbai, was transferred and appointed as the DG – Maharashtra State Police Housing And Welfare Corporation (MSPH&W Corp), Mumbai.
- Smt Archana Tyagi IPS (Maharashtra 1993), presently Managing Director, MSPH&W Coproration, Mumbai, was transferred and appointed as the new Director General, (Legal & Technical), Mumbai.
- Shri Vishwas Nangare Patil IPS (Maharashtra 1997), presently Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Anti Corruption Bureau, Mumbai, has been transferred and appointed as Commissioner of Police – Nagpur City.
- Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal IPS (Maharashtra 1996), presently Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City, is transferred and appointed as Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Anti Corruption Bureau, Mumbai, in place of Shari Vishwas Patil.
- Shri Dattatray Shinde IPS (Maharashtra 2008), presently Additional Commissioner of Police, Mira-Bhyander-Vasai-Virar, a DIGP Rank position, was promoted by the state and appointed as Inspector General (IG) – State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), CID Pune.
- Shri Sanjay V Shintre IPS (Maharashtra 2010), presently Dy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Cyber Security, Mumbai, has been transferred and appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police, Mira-Bhyander-Vasai-Virar, in place of Shri Dattatray Shinde.
- Shri Prashant Mohite IPS (Maharashtra 2015 batch), presently Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Sambhaji Nagar, is transferred and posted as DCP – Dial 112, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
- Shri Neelabh Rohan IPS (Maharashtra 2016 batch), presently Superintendent of Police (SP), Hingoli, is transferred and posted as SP, Nanded, Maharashtra.
- Shri Abinash Kumar IPS (Maharashtra 2018 batch), presently SP, Nanded, is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Pune, Maharashtra.
- Dr Shrenik Dilip Lodha IPS (Maharashtra 2019 batch), presently Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP), Khamgaon (Buldhana), is transferred and posted as SP – Hingoli, Maharashtra.
- Smt Rupali I Ambure SPS (2005) , presently Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Dial 112, Navi Mumbai, is transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (SP) – Maharashtra State Security Corporation, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
- Shri Shashikant Satav SPS (2005), presently DCP, Nagpur (City), is transferred and posted as DCP – Sambhaji Nagar City, Maharashtra.
- Shri Ramesh Malhari Dhumal SPS (2011), presently DCP (HQ), Amravati City, is transferred and posted as DCP – Nagpur (City), Maharashtra.
- Shri Piush Vilas Jagtap SPS (2011), presently Commandant, IRB-IV, State Reserve Police Force, Chandrapur, is transferred and posted as Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP), Khamgaon, Buldhana, Maharashtra.
- Shri Narayan Devidas Shirgaonkar SPS (2013), presently Commandant, State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), 13 Battalion, Gadchiroli, is transferred and posted as Commandant – SRPF, Group 19, Kusalgaon, Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra.
- Smt Pranjali Sonwane, presently Superintendent of Police (SP), Amravati, is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Amravati, Maharashtra.
