Indian Bureaucracy News, Mumbai, April 03, 2026 | The Maharashtra government, on April 2, 2026, transferred 25 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, with the exercise largely impacting urban local bodies, development corporations, and mission-mode programmes. Senior officer Shri G Sreekanth (2009) has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Navi Mumbai, while Shri Deepak Singla (2012) will head the MGNREGA Commissionerate in Nagpur.
At the district level, several Collector-level changes have been undertaken, with Shri Kumar Ashirwad posted to Nagpur and Shri Vinay Gowda assigned as Collector of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. The reshuffle also sees swaps, including Dr Kiran Patil and Dr P P Deore exchanging the Animal Husbandry and Buldhana Collector posts.
Additionally, officers from relatively recent batches (2019–2022) have been entrusted with independent charge as Municipal Commissioners in urban centres such as Sangli, Jalna, and Amravati, providing them with exposure of urban governance.

- Smt K Manjulekshmi IAS (Maharashtra 2013), presently Municipal Commissioner, Kolhapur Municipal Corporation, Kolhapur, is transferred and appointed as Additional Municipal Commissioner – Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Pune.
- Shri Rajendra Bharud IAS (Maharashtra 2013), presently Project Director, Rashtriya Uchhastar Siksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Higher & Technical Education Department, Mumbai, is transferred and appointed as Municipal Commissioner – Kolhapur.
- Dr P P Deore IAS (Maharashtra 2013), presently Commissioner, Animal Husbandary, Pune, is transferred and appointed as Collector – Buldhana.
- Dr Bharat Bastewad IAS (Maharashtra 2013), presently Commissioner, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employee Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Nagpur, is transferred and appointed as Collector – Latur.
- Shri Amol Jagannath Yedage IAS (Maharashtra 2014), presently Collector, Kolhapur, is transferred and appointed as Municipal Commissioner – Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
