Indian Bureaucracy News, Hyderabad, April 03, 2026 | Smt A Vani Prasad IAS (Telangana 1995), upon joining the Telangana cadre, has been appointed as Special Chief Secretary – Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture (YAT&C) Department, Telangana, effective April 01, 2026, thereby relieving Shri Jayesh Ranjan IAS (Telangana 1992), of the additional charge of the said department. Shri Jayesh Ranjan, presently Special Chief Secretary, Metropolitan Area & Urban Development, shall, however, continue to hold the additional charge of Special Chief Secretary, Sports Department, Telangana.
Smt Prasad was reallocated to Telangana cadre in last week of March, 2026, following a judicial mandate. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) had formally directed the Andhra Pradesh government to immediately relieve the senior IAS officer, confirming her reallocation to the Telangana cadre. The directive comes in compliance with a Telangana High Court order.
Smt A Vani Prasad, is a seasoned bureaucrat with over two decades of distinguished service. Born on February 10, 1967, she joined the state bureaucracy as Andhra Pradesh State Civil Service officer, and was subsequently promoted into the IAS cadre. Her extensive career includes roles such as District Collector of West Godavari, Commissioner of Technical Education, Secretary of the Public Service Commission, and CEO of employment generation missions in Hyderabad.
