Indian Bureaucracy News, Mumbai, March 31, 2026 | As part of a quiet yet significant reshuffle ahead of the new administrative year, the Maharashtra government has reassigned ten (10) of its senior bureaucrats across departments and civic bodies, with experienced bureaucrats being moved into roles handling critical policy areas such as agriculture and urban governance.

Some of the notable postings are, Smt Ashwini Bhide, IAS, taking charge as Municipal Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Shri Prithviraj B P, IAS, moving to the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation.

At the senior administrative level, Shri Lokesh Chandra, IAS, is the new ACS to Chief Minister of the state, Smt Vinita Vaid Singal, IAS, becomes Principal Secretary of the Soil and Water Conservation Department. Shri Vikas Chandra Rastogi, IAS, steps into the role of Additional Chief Secretary (Financial Reforms).

Detailed list of officers with their present and new postings is given below.

  1. Shri Lokesh Chandra IAS (Maharashtra 1993), presently Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, is transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Maharashtra, Mumbai.
  2. Smt Ashwini Bhide IAS (Maharashtra 1995), presently Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Maharashtra, is transferred and appointed as Municipal Commissioner – Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai, Maharashtra.
  3. Shri Vikas Chandra Rastogi IAS (Maharashtra 1995), presently Additional Chief Secretary, Agril, Agriculture Department, Maharashtra, is transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary – Financial Reforms, Finance Department, Maharashtra.
  4. Smt Vinita Vaid Singal IAS (Maharashtra 1996), presently Principal Secretary, Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation (R&R), with additional charge of Revenue and Forest Department, is transferred and appointed as Principal Secretary – Soil and Water Conservation Department, Maharashtra.
  5. Shri Parimal Singh IAS (Maharashtra 2004), presently Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture, Maharashtra, and, Project Director, Project on Climate Resilient Agriculture (POCRA), Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivanee Project (POCRA), Department of Agriculture, Mumbai, is appointed as Secretary – Agriculture Department, Maharashtra.
  6. Shri Tukaram Mundhe IAS (Maharashtra 2005), presently Secretary, Divyang Kalyan Department, Maharashtra, is transferred and appointed as Secretary – Disaster Management, R&R, and, Revenue & Forest Department, Maharashtra.
  7. Shri Lahu S Mali IAS (Maharashtra 2009), presently awaiting posting is appointed as Managing Director – Shivshahi Punarvasan Project Limited, Mumbai.
  8. Shri Manik G Gursal IAS (Maharashtra 2009), presently awaiting posting is appointed as Secretary – Divyang Kalyan Department, Maharashtra.
  9. Smt Prerna H Deshbhratar IAS (Maharashtra 2010), presently Joint Commissioner, State Tax, Mumbai, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner – Fisheries, Mumbai.
  10. Shri Prithviraj B P IAS (Maharashtra 2014), presently Additional Municipal Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation, Pune, is transferred and appointed as Municipal Commissioner, Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation, Virar.
