Shri M G Balasubrahmanya presently Executive Director- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been appointed as Director (Human Resources), HAL by The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) .
Mr. Balasubrahmanya is a seasoned human resources professional with a strong academic background, holding a Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from the School of Social Work, Mangalore University. He also possesses a Law degree from Osmania University and is a certified Internal Assessor for the Competency Assessment, reflecting his commitment to professional development and HR excellence.
He began his career with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in 1989 as a Management Trainee (Personnel). Over the course of more than 35 years, Mr. Balasubrahmanya has made remarkable contributions across the entire spectrum of Human Resources. His extensive experience encompasses key domains such as Industrial Relations, Legal and Disciplinary matters, Training and Skill Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Facility and Estate Management, and Vigilance. His service has spanned various levels within HAL—Divisional, Complex, and Corporate—demonstrating his versatility and leadership across diverse HR functions.
In his role as Executive Director (HR), Mr. Balasubrahmanya focused on attracting and retaining high-quality talent while nurturing a culture grounded in continuous learning and innovation. He emphasized process improvement, automation, employee engagement, and productivity enhancement as strategic priorities. Additionally, he played a crucial role in formulating and aligning HR policies and interventions to meet HAL’s evolving business needs and operational challenges, thereby strengthening the organization’s human capital framework.
