For taking up various National Highway projects, particularly involving connectivity with neighbouring countries, loan funds from Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and other multilateral agencies is also arranged as per standard borrowing terms of Government of India. Total 21 projects of about 2600 kms with estimated cost of US$ 5600 million have been posed for loan funding from ADB and 8 projects of about 1000 kms with an estimated cost of approx. US$ 2000 million have already been cleared by DEA for loan assistance from JICA for North-East connectivity projects.
