Shri Kumar Tuhin IFS (1991) presently High Commissioner of India to Namibia has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Hungary.He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.  Shri Tuhin was Joint Secretary(Development Partnership Administration) in Ministry of External Affairs of India. In that capacity, he was in-charge of Govt of  India’s capacity building programmes for other countries, including the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme,  Aid for Disaster Relief, as well as implementation of grant projects in Latin America, East and South East Asia, West Asia and North Africa, and Central Asia regions. Mr. Tuhin has earlier served in the Indian Missions in Hong Kong, Beijing, Geneva (India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva), Hanoi and San Francisco.  In the Ministry of External Affairs, he has earlier served as Deputy Secretary (China)/ Director(East Asia). Shri Tuhin is a Mechanical Engineer by training, and served in Indian Railways for a few years before joining the Indian Foreign Service.
