Krishna Kumar Singh assumes Additional Charge of CMD, SAIL 

Indian Bureaucracy News, March 03, 2026 | Shri Krishna Kumar Singh has assumed charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) on April 2, 2026. He is presently serving as Director (Personnel) of the company, a position he has held since August 25, 2022, and is now assuming the role of CMD as an additional charge.

An Electrical Engineering graduate from IIT (BHU), Shri Singh also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. He joined SAIL in 1987 as a Management Trainee (Technical) at the Bhilai Steel Plant and has since built a distinguished career spanning nearly 35 years. Over the course of his tenure, he has held several key positions, including Executive Director In-Charge (Personnel & Administration), gaining extensive experience across operations, human resource development, vigilance, and personnel management at both plant and corporate levels.

Shri Singh has been instrumental in driving a range of progressive human resource initiatives within the organisation, including performance management systems, career progression frameworks, manpower planning, compensation and benefits structuring, and training and development programmes. He has also contributed significantly to strengthening industrial relations and employee engagement, while playing a pivotal role in the formulation and implementation of key HR policies within the company.
