The Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (I/C), Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Shri Vijay Goel addressing at the inauguration of the Khelo India National Level Competitions, in New Delhi on January 15, 2017.

Khelo India National level Competitions under aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports would be organized from 15th Jan, 2017 to 21st Jan, 2017 in Swimming, Cycling and Wrestling. Minister of State (I/C) Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Vijay Goel will inaugurate the Competitions at Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex, New Delhi. More than 25 states/Union territories are expected to participate in the National Competitions. Approximately 1000 participants are expected to participate in the Khelo India National Competitions being organized by SAI.  Entry for spectators to watch the events is free at all venues.

 Shri Vijay Goel in a statement said that the intention to conduct Khelo India Competitions is not only to promote sports at grass-root level but also to provide a platform to the budding talents to compete at national level. Talent identification would also be done in the process for grooming them to achieve excellence at international level. He said, Khelo India Scheme will prove a game changer as it will not only help   to create sports infrastructure but also attract budding talent to prove their mettle.
