A delegation of Sampoorn Kashmir Sangathan (SKS), a registered organization of Kashmiri Pandit community, called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh and sought his intervention for redressal of their wide range of demands including jobs for over-age youth in the community, rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits and terrorism. The delegation was led by SKS Chairman Shri Anoop Kaul.

In a memorandum submitted to Dr Jitendra Singh, members of the delegation demanded that all the youth from the community, who had become over – age for government job, should be given one time package as per individual basis per year for last 26 years as a compensation for loss of tenure of their life. They also demanded soft loan provision for all categories of Kashmiri Pandits so that they could start on their own and seek self-employment anywhere in India. The memorandum particularly emphasized on the demand for employment for the Kashmiri Pandit youth outside Valley.

Another major demand put forward by the delegation is compensation to traders and one-time relief package for all registered persons of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community till their return to the Valley as per immovable properties owned by them before they migrated out of the Valley. The memorandum expressed the hope that the government will take their demands seriously and ensure justice for them.

Dr Jitendra Singh assured them that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to ensure dignified return of the displaced community to the places of their origin in the Valley. He also assured them that memorandum submitted by them will be put up before the Union Home Ministry for perusal.

IndianBureaucracy.com hopes and prays that the situation is resolved to the extent that they can go back home and hopes the PDP and BJP Governments work together in the rehabilitation of all displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
