Indian Bureaucracy News, Bengaluru, September 03, 2025 | The Karnataka government, through a notification dated 02.09.2025, assigned additional charge to eighteen (18) senior officers and declared several of these posts as equivalent in status and responsibilities to Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre positions under the provisions of Rule 12 of the IAS (Pay) Rules, 2016.

According to the order, the post of Commissioner, Land Acquisition, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Upper Krishna Project, Bagalkot, has been accorded equivalence to the cadre post of Secretary to Government in the Super-Time Scale of the IAS. Similarly, the post of Commissioner, Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, has also been declared equivalent to the cadre post of Secretary to Government in the Super-Time Scale of the IAS, as included in Schedule II-A of the Rules.

In addition, a number of posts within the Greater Bengaluru Authority have been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Director of Municipal Administration in the Senior Scale of the IAS under Schedule II-B.

The list of the officers with their present and additional charge is listed as below.

  1. Shri Mohan Raj K P IAS (Karnataka 2007), presently Managing Director, Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Limited (KBJNL), Bengaluru, is given additional charge of Commissioner – Land Acquisition, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Upper Krishna Project, Bagalkot, Karnataka, relieving Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar IAS of the charge.
  2. Shri Rajendra Cholan P IAS (Karnataka 2008), presently Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister, Karnataka, Bengaluru, is given additional charge of Commissioner – Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru.

  3. Shri Ramesh D S IAS (Karnataka 2010), presently Director, Horticulture and Director, National Horticulture Mission, Bengaluru, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner – Bengaluru East City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru.

  4. Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar IAS (Karnataka 2011), presently Commissioner, Revenue (Revenue, LAQ, R&R and Social Security), Bengaluru, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner, Bengaluru North City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru.

  5. Shri Ramesh K N IAS (Karnataka 2012), presently Zonal Commissioner (Mahadevapura), Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, Bengaluru, is posted as Commissioner – Bengaluru South City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru.

  6. Smt Latha R IAS (Karnataka 2012), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as Additional Commissioner – (Development, Bengaluru North City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru.

  7. Shri Patil Yalagouda Shivanagouda IAS (Karnataka 2012), presently Commissioner, Agriculture Department, is given additional charge of Director – Horticulture and Director – National Horticulture Mission, Bengaluru, relieving Shri Ramesh D S IAS of the charge.
  8. Dr Gopal Krishna H N IAS (Karnataka 2012), presently Commissioner for Labour, Bengaluru, is given additional charge of Commissioner- ESIS, Labour Department, Bengaluru, relieving Shri Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar IAS of the charge.
  9. Dr Rajendra K V IAS (Karnataka 2013), presently Managing Director, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, Bengaluru, is transferred and appointed as Commissioner – Bengaluru West City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru.
  10. Shri Mullai Muhilan M P IAS (Karnataka 2013), presently Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner of Stamps, Bengaluru, is given additional charge of Commissioner – Revenue (Revenue, Land Acquisition (LAQ), Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) and Social Security), Bengaluru, relieving Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar IAS of the charge.
  11. Shri Venkat Raja IAS (Karnataka 2013), presently Deputy Commissioner, Kodagu District, Madikeri, is given additional charge of Regional Commissioner, Mysuru Division, Mysuru, relieving Shri Ramesh D S IAS of the charge.
  12. Shri Nalini Atul IAS (Karnataka 2014), presently Secretary, Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board & E/o, Joint Secretary, Planning, Programme Monitoring & Statistics Department, Kalaburagi, is given additional charge of Additional Commissioner – Public Instruction, Kalaburagi, relieving Shri Pandve Rahul Tukaram IAS of the charge.
  13. Shri Pandve Rahul Tukaram IAS (Karnataka 2016), presently Additional Commissioner for Public Instruction, Kalaburagi, is transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner – Development, Bengaluru South City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru.

  14. Shri Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar IAS (Karnataka 2017), presently Additional Commissioner, Development, Bengaluru East City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru, is given additional charge of Managing Director – Karnataka Vidyut Karkhane Limited, Bengaluru.
  15. Shri Bharat S IAS (Karnataka 2017), presently Director, Pre-University Education Bengaluru, is given additional charge of Director -Tourism, Bengaluru, relieving Dr Rajendra K V IAS of the charge.
  16. Shri Digvijay Bodke IAS (Karnataka 2018), presently Zonal Commissioner (South), Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, Bengaluru, is appointed as Additional Commissioner – Development, Bengaluru West City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru.

  17. Shri Rahul Sharanappa Sankanur IAS (Karnataka 2019), presently Additional Commissioner, Development, Bengaluru Central City Corporation, Greater Bengaluru Authority, Bengaluru, is given additional charge of Joint Controller of Examination –  Karnataka Public Service Commission, Bengaluru.
  18. Shri Daljeet Kumar IAS (Karnataka 2021), presently Deputy Secretary, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Karnataka, is given additional charge of Director – Information Technology and Bio-Technology, Bengaluru, relieving Shri Rahul Sharanappa Sankanur IAS of the charge.
