Shri K K Sharma IPS (Rajasthan 1982)  presently Director General, BSF has been given the additional charge of Director General, NSG.

Shri K. K. Sharma born on 30th September 1958 in New Delhi is an alumni of Delhi University. He did his LL.B. from Delhi University before joining Indian Police Service. Shri Sharma is also a PG in Criminal Justice and Police Management from Police Training College, Bramshill United Kingdom and University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
Shri Sharma belongs to the 1982 batch of the Indian Police Service from the Rajasthan Cadre.

He started his Indian Bureaucracy career in Rajasthan and has handled many important portfolios till date. From serving as ADC to Governor Rajasthan (two tenures), Special stint in CID (CB), Special Protection Group, Cabinet Secretariat, Govt. of India as Assistant Director and Deputy DG, served in Ministry of Civil Aviation (Govt. of India) as IGP-& CVO (on deputation to India Airlines). He joined BSF on 28th Sept 2012 as IG- Kashmir Frontier, served in BSF as Addl Director General/ Director BSF Academy- Tekanpur, served as ADG- Operational. Since Feb 2016, he is holding the charge of DG- BSF.

Special mention: Shri K K Sharma has been decorated with Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Services in August, 1999 and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services in August, 2009. He has been awarded with several DG’s awards and commendations.
