Shri Justice Vikas Bahl presently Additional Judge- Punjab and Haryana High Court has been appointed as Judge- Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Date of Birth : 25th September, 1973
Year 1990 :Passed 10th from St. John’s High School, Chandigarh.
Year 1995 :Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Finance , Government College for Men, Sector 11, Chandigarh.
Year 1998 :Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) from Panjab University, Chandigarh.
DISTINCTIONS :
* Stood Ist in 10 + 2 in Punjab School Education Board Examination, Government College for Men, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

* Stood Ist in Bachelor of Commerce-III in Government College for Men, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

* Admitted to the Roll of Honour of Government College for Men, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

* Secured Ist rank, on the basis of LL.B Entrance Examination (All Over India) and marks secured in the Graduation for admission to LL.B. Course in Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Was born in a family of lawyers. His father, late Shri Amrit Lal Bahl, was a Senior Advocate, who practiced for several years in the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh. His grand father, late Shri Balraj Bahl, also practised for several decades in the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh. Was enrolled on 22.03.1999 as a Member of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana. Under the Training Rules, 1995, the training period from 18.09.1998 to 15.09.1999 has been treated as ‘Legal Practice’ and, thus, for the said period he was deemed to be an Advocate, for all intents and purposes of the Advocates Act, 1961. During this period at the Bar, he practised in various fields of law, such as, Civil, Revenue, Rent, Criminal, Constitution, Arbitration including International Arbitration, Service Law, Company Law. He was on the Panel of lawyers to conduct cases on behalf of Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh and conducted several cases on its behalf, pro bono. He was also on the panel of Union Territory, Chandigarh Administration. He was designated as Senior Advocate on 29.01.2014. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, on 25.05.2021.
