Justice Vijaykumar Adagouda Patil presently Additional Judge- Karnataka High Court has been appointed as Permanent Judge- Karnataka High Court.
Justice Vijaykumar Adagouda Patil is a distinguished member of the judiciary, whose career is marked by academic brilliance and legal expertise. Born on October 14, 1975, in Shedbal, Kagwad Taluk of Belgaum District, he received his primary and secondary education in his hometown. He pursued higher education with dedication, earning a B.A. degree from Shivananda College, Kagawad, followed by a law degree from the prestigious University Law College, Dharwad. Further enhancing his legal acumen, he completed his LL.M. from the Postgraduate Department of Studies in Law, Karnatak University, Dharwad, where he secured 2nd rank, reflecting his scholarly excellence.
Justice Patil commenced his legal career upon enrolling as an advocate on July 16, 1999, and began practicing in Bengaluru. He gained valuable experience under the guidance of Hon’ble Justice Ashok B. Hinchigeri and established a versatile practice across various branches of law. Demonstrating his legal acumen, he served as High Court Government Pleader and Additional Government Advocate for an impressive 11 years.
In addition to his extensive practice, Justice Patil represented prominent entities as Standing Counsel for organizations such as the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), Karnataka Slum Development Board, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Corporation, and Mysore Urban Development Authority. His dedication to education was evident through his role as an Honorary Lecturer at Sheshadripuram Law College and KLE Society’s Law College in Bengaluru, where he inspired aspiring legal minds.
Justice Patil’s remarkable contributions to the legal profession culminated in his appointment as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Karnataka on February 9, 2023. His commitment to justice, academic rigor, and legal expertise make him an exemplary figure in the judiciary.
