Justice Syam Kumar Vadakke Mudavakkat appointed as Permanent Judge – Kerala High Court
Shri Justice Syam Kumar Vadakke Mudavakkat presently Additional Judge -Kerala High Court has been appointed as Permanent Judge of Kerala High Court.
Born on 01.06.1973. Obtained Law Degree from Govt. Law College, Ernakulam. Enrolled as an advocate on 07.01.1996. Joined the Chambers of his father T. Gopakumar, Advocate, Thrissur. Obtained LL.M. specializing in Maritime Law from School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology. Joined the Chambers of S. Venkiteswaran, Senior Advocate, High Court of Bombay. Shifted practice to Ernakulam in the year 2000 and joined the law firm Southern Law Chambers. Later became a partner of Southern Law Chambers in the year 2005. Set up independent practice in the year 2014. Areas of practice included Admiralty and Shipping law, Commercial law and Constitutional Law. Was an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies. Taught Maritime law, Law of the Sea and Marine Insurance as guest faculty in various law schools including the School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology and Kerala University for Fisheries and Oceanic Studies.
Was sworn in as the additional judge of the High Court of Kerala on 22.03.2024.
