Shri Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar presently Judge – Bombay High Court appointed to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from 31.05.2023 consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Ramesh Deokinandan Dhanuka, Chief Justice, Bombay High Court on 30.05.2023.

Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar is born in Solapur into a family of lawyers, being the third generation to pursue a career in the legal field.

Having received education in different schools across Maharashtra, obtained degrees in Commerce and Law from Sydenham Commerce College and Government Law College, Mumbai. Practised at the Bombay High Court in diverse fields, primarily in administrative and constitutional law. Represented various public bodies such as the Zilla Parishads, Municipal Councils, Municipal Corporations, and Universities. Also represented the Bar Council of India and the High Court administration. Was Senior Standing Counsel for the Union of India.

Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar was appointed as a judge of the Bombay High Court on 23 January 2012.
