Justice Mohammed Shaffiq presently Additional Judge now appointed as Judge of Madras High Court, in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India to the President of India, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, vide notifications dated 03.03.2023.

Born on 06.03.1972 to late Shri. S.M. Abdul Kadir and Mrs. Sayed Ali Fathima. He did his schooling in St. Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Santhome, Madras. Graduated in Law from Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Madras. Enrolled as an advocate on 30.09.1994. Though his primary areas of interest are Constitution and Taxation, his practice also extended to Environmental, Commercial and Telecommunication laws. He had appeared in over 10 High Courts including Chartered High Court’s of Madras, Bombay and Calcutta. He was appointed as a Special Government Pleader (Taxes) for the State of Tamil Nadu in the year October 2018.
