Indian Bureaucracy News, New Delhi, September 15, 2025 | The Government of India has notified appointment of Justice M Sundar, Judge of the Madras High Court, as the new Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, making him the tenth Chief Justice of Manipur High Court.
The appointment, issued by the Ministry of Law & Justice under Article 217(1) of the Constitution, was approved by the President on September 13, 2025. Justice Sundar assumes charge following the retirement of Chief Justice Kempaiah Somashekar on September 14.
