Justice Jitendra Shantilal Jain presently Additional Judge- Bombay High Court appointed as Permanent Judge of the Bombay High Court.
Justice Jitendra Jain did his schooling at Mumbai and completed his B.Com. from Jai Hind College, Mumbai. He obtained his LL.B. degree from Government Law College. He is qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and did Company Secretary (Intermediate) course. He secured 34th rank at the I.C.W.A. final exam and obtained highest marks in Interpretation of Statutes at the 3rd year law examination.
He has been in Counsel Practice since 1997. He is from the Chambers of Shri. Rafique Dada, Senior Advocate. Practised in Direct and Indirect Taxes; Fiscal, Economic, Corporate and Constitutional Laws. He has appeared before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Bombay High Court and its Benches and had an occasion to appear in most of the High Courts across the country. He has also appeared before the Direct & Indirect Tax Tribunals at Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Goa, etc., Advance Ruling Authority, arbitrations, etc.
He has taught taxation laws to students appearing for Cost Accountancy and Chartered Accountancy courses. Has written articles in several newspapers and magazines on fiscal and economic laws, given lectures/presentations at various seminars, etc. with the sole emphasis on simplification of fiscal and economic laws to Chartered Accountants, students and to the common man. He has contributed to various research papers too and has also authored a book based on the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors Act (MPID) Act.
He was sworn in as the Additional Judge of the Hon’ble Bombay High Court on 15th June 2023.
