J&K Reshuffles 14 Forest Officials, Chaturbhuji Behara IFS made PCCF (Wildlife)

Indian Bureaucracy News, Jammu/Srinagar, March 10, 2026 | The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered transfer and re-assignment of 14 officers, predominantly from the Indian Forest Service, across the department of Forest, Ecology and Environment. The latest order issued by the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment dated on March 10, 2026, is mainly in the areas of wildlife conservation, pollution control mechanisms, and social forestry operations in the Union Territory.

Among important changes, Chaturbhuji Behara (1996), Director of the J&K Forest Research Institute, has been given additional charge of PCCF (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, relieving Sarvesh Rai, of the post, a critical area given J&K’s biodiversity significance. V Senthil Kumar (2005), Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu, will additionally hold charge of Regional Wildlife Warden of Jammu.

The order also saw a series of Divisional Conservator-level changes, particularly the shuffling of roles between Safeer Hussain, Abhijeet Joshi, Vijay Kumar Verma, and Hitashi Sharma.

List of officers with their present and new postings is detailed below.

  1. Shri Chaturbhuji Behara IFS (AGMUT 1996), presently Director, J&K Forest Research Institute, is given additional charge of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) – Wildlife and Chief Wildlife Warden, Jammu and Kashmir, relieving Shri Sarvesh Rai IFS (AGMUT 1991), PCCF (HoFF), J&K, of the post.
  2. Dr V Senthil Kumar IFS (AGMUT 2005), presently Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu, with additional charge of Regional Director, Social Forestry Department, Jammu, is given additional charge of Regional Wildlife Warden, Jammu. He will continue as Regional Director, Social Forestry Department till return of Ms Shaveta Jandial IFS from her maternity leave.
  3. Ms Vanjuvalli Sridhar IFS (AGMUT 2012), presently awaiting posting, is transferred and appointed as Conservator of Forests – Research Circle, relieving Shri Pardeepchandra Vohra IFS (AGMUT 2009), CF, CAT.
  4. Ms Shaveta Jandial IFS (AGMUT 2013), presently Regional Director, Pollution Control Committee, Jammu, is transferred and posted as Regional Director, Social Forestry Department, Jammu.
  5. Ms Jyotsana IFS (AGMUT 2013), presently Regional Wildlife Warden, Jammu, is transferred and appointed as Chief General Manager (Eco-tourism & Diversification), J&K Forest Development Corporation.

  6. Shri Suresh Manda IFS (AGMUT 2016), presently Chief General Manager (P&P), J&K Forest Development Corporation, is transferred and appointed as Regional Director – Pollution Control Committee, Jammu, relieving Ms Shaveta Jandial IFS (AGMUT 2013).

  7. Shri Zubair Ahmad Shah DCF, presently General Manager, South Extraction Circle, Kashmir, J&K Forest Development Corporation, is given additional charge of Joint Director – Soil & Water Conservation, Kashmir, relieving Shri Zahid Aslam Moghal DCF, DFO, J&K Division, Baramulla.

  8. Ms Hitashi Sharma DCF, presently Deputy Director, Forest Protection Force, Udhampur, is transferred and appointed as Divisional Forest Officer – Social Forestry Division, Kathua, relieving Shri Ashok Kumar Kalsi ACF.

  9. Shri Vijay Kumar Verma DCF, presently Divisional Forest Officer, Manore Forest Division, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) – Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Social Forestry, relieving Ms Mehnaz Amin DCF.

  10. Shri Safeer Hussain DCF, presently Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry Jammu, is transferred and appointed as Regional Director – Pollution Control Committee, Kashmir, relieving Shri Abhijeet Joshi DCF.

  11. Shri Abhijeet Joshi DCF, presently Regional Director, Pollution Control Committee, Kashmir, is transferred and appointed as Chief General Manager – Administration, J&K Forest Development Corporation.

  12. Shri Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone DCF (Wildlife), presently Deputy Conservator of Forests, C&E, Social Forestry, is given additional charge of Project Coordinator – Biodiversity & Livelihood, Wular Conservation and Management Authority (WUCMA), relieving Shri Owais Farooq Mir DCF (Wildlife) of the additional charge.

  13. Shri Ashok Kumar Kalsi DCF, presently Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry Division, Kathua, is transferred and appointed as Divisional Forest Officer – Social Forestry Division, Jammu, relieving Shri Safeer Hussain DCF.

  14. Shri Sudarshan Singh ACF, presently awaiting posting in the office of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force (PCCF HoFF), is given additional charge of Divisional Forest Officer, Mahore Forest Division, relieving Shri Vijay Kumar Verma DCF.
