Shri Janak Prasad Pathak, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, presently serving as Commissioner, Higher Education, has been transferred and appointed as Special Secretary – Forest, Government of Chhattisgarh. Over the years, Shri Pathak has held several key administrative positions. Most recently, he was posted as Divisional Commissioner, Durg from September 2023 onwards, overseeing land revenue management and divisional administration. Prior to that, he briefly served as Special Secretary in the Environment Department, Raipur from January to September 2023. From November 2022 to January 2023, he was the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Chhattisgarh.
Earlier, Shri Pathak served as the District Collector of Janjgir from June 2019 to November 2022, and before that, as District Collector under the Land Revenue Department from April 2018 to June 2019. He also held the post of Registrar in the Agriculture and Cooperation Department between August 2015 and June 2019. With a strong foundation in district administration, cooperative governance, and environmental affairs, Shri Pathak brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Special Secretary in the Forest Department.
