Shri J P Singh presently Director (Technical), Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), Ministry of Coal, has been given extension in tenure with effect from 01.06.2018 and till the date of his superannuation i.e. 28.02.2019.
Shri J P Singh joined Coal India Ltd. in the year 1979 and has been discharging his responsibilities in various capacities down the line with remarkable achievements. Prior to joining MCL, he was at the helms of affairs at Rajmahal Group of Mines in Eastern Coalfields Ltd. and during his tenure over there, the Area recorded the highest profitability compared to other Areas in the Company. Performance of the Area in terms of coal production and dispatch as well as removal of over burden was also the best since inception. HEMM utilization having reached the top of its capacity during his stint as General Manager at different coal mining projects has earned him accolades from the Chairman of the Company. Mr. Singh has received certain specialized training from India and abroad – one being the training on `Advanced Management’ in China and professionally, is a Life Member of Mining, Geology and Metallurgical Institute of India. He holds B. Tech in Mining from the prestigious Indian School of Mines(ISM), Dhanbad.
