Prime Minister Narendra Modi  said, India is the hot-spot of digital innovation across all sectors. Inaugurating the World Congress on Information Technology at Hyderabad through video-conferencing from Mysuru, Mr Modi said, India not only possesses a growing number of innovative entrepreneurs, but it also has a growing market for tech innovation.

He said, Digital India has not remained merely a government initiative but has become a way of life. The Prime Minister asserted that while most of the initiatives depend on a government push, Digital India is succeeding because of the people’s pull.

He said Digital India is a journey bringing about digital inclusion for digital empowerment aided by the digital infrastructure for digital delivery of services. Mr Modi said, leveraging technology in such a holistic manner was unthinkable some years ago and now the government has successfully completed this life-cycle in the last 3 and a half years.

AIR correspondent reports that over 2,000 delegates including heads of IT majors, visionaries, Government leaders and academia from 30 countries are taking part in the Congress being held in India for the first time. The event has been organised by the World Information Technology and Services Alliance, while the National Alliance of Software and Services Companies and the Telangana state are jointly hosting the event.

Artificial Intelligence base economy, Information age to Experience, Collaborative and Digital innovation, lessons for next Hegemony economy and Thinking Machines are some among the themes which the Congress will deliberate upon for the next three days.
