Shri Hrishikesh B. Yashod, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, is a distinguished administrator known for his multidisciplinary expertise, combining a medical background with extensive experience in governance and public administration. A graduate in Medicine (M.B.B.S.) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, he brings a unique perspective to public service, particularly in sectors such as health, women and child development, and social welfare.

Beginning his administrative journey in 2006, Shri Yashod underwent foundational training before taking up field assignments that laid the groundwork for his career. His early roles included serving as Assistant Collector in Jhansi and Joint Collector in Chitrakoot, where he gained hands-on experience in land revenue management, sub-divisional administration, and grassroots governance. He later served as Chief Development Officer in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), where he contributed to urban development initiatives and implementation of key government schemes aimed at improving infrastructure and public service delivery.

Shri Yashod went on to hold important district leadership roles as District Collector and District Magistrate in Auraiya and Siddharth Nagar. In these positions, he was responsible for maintaining law and order, managing land revenue systems, and driving development administration. At the state level in Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yashod held several key assignments across diverse departments. He served as Special Secretary in departments such as Medical Health and Family Welfare, Home, Environment and Forests, Education, and Agriculture & Cooperation. These roles enabled him to contribute to policy formulation and program implementation across critical sectors. Notably, his background in medicine proved particularly valuable during his tenure in the health department, where he was involved in strengthening public health systems and family welfare initiatives.

He also served as Special Secretary in the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department, reflecting his versatility in handling economic and industrial policy matters. Additionally, he held important administrative roles in the Chief Secretary’s Office, including Chief Staff Officer and Staff Officer, where he was closely involved in high-level decision-making, coordination, and governance monitoring.

Shri Yashod’s experience further expanded through inter-cadre deputation to Maharashtra, where he held significant responsibilities in departments such as Public Health & Family Welfare, Labour Welfare, and Women & Child Development. As Commissioner in these departments, he contributed to strengthening institutional frameworks, improving service delivery, and advancing welfare initiatives for vulnerable sections of society. His work in Women and Child Development, in particular, underscored his commitment to social equity and inclusive governance.

He also served as District Magistrate of Aligarh, where he handled critical administrative responsibilities in a complex district setting. His leadership was marked by effective crisis management and administrative efficiency.

Currently, Shri Hrishikesh B. Yashod is serving as Commissioner in Saharanpur, a key administrative position equivalent to Joint Secretary level. In this role, he oversees divisional administration, coordinates district-level governance, and ensures effective implementation of government policies across the region.
