Shri Himanshu Kaushik IAS (Uttar Pradesh 2018), presently awaiting posting, is appointed as Director (MD) – UP Electronics Corporation Limited.
Shri Himanshu Kaushik, an emerging officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), reflects a strong blend of technical grounding and public policy orientation. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, where he secured a First-class distinction, and further pursued a Master of Arts in Public Management from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. This academic combination equips him with both analytical rigor and a nuanced understanding of governance systems, shaping a balanced and thoughtful administrative approach.
In his current role as Additional Private Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Shri Kaushik is associated with key policy matters concerning social equity and welfare. His responsibilities in this position involve close coordination at the central level, contributing to initiatives aimed at the upliftment of marginalized communities. Prior to this, he served as Additional Resident Commissioner at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi, where he handled inter-governmental coordination and administrative liaison work, reflecting his ability to manage responsibilities across institutional frameworks.
His field-level experience in Andhra Pradesh has provided him with valuable grassroots exposure. As Joint Collector in Srikakulam and Sub Collector in East Godavari, he was involved in land revenue administration, district governance, and implementation of development programmes. These assignments offered him firsthand insight into public service delivery and local administrative challenges, helping him build a grounded perspective early in his career.
Shri Kaushik’s foundational training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, along with his tenure as Assistant Collector under training, contributed to the development of his administrative capabilities and professional outlook.
Though still in the relatively early stages of his career, Shri Himanshu Kaushik demonstrates a steady and promising trajectory within the Indian Bureaucracy. His exposure to both field administration and central policymaking, combined with a composed and diligent work ethic, positions him as a capable officer contributing meaningfully to public administration.
