Heads of ATS, STF and BSAP Among 7 IPS Officers Transferred in Bihar

Indian Bureaucracy, Patna, December 03, 2024| The Bihar government today announced a series of transfers involving seven senior IPS officers, introducing significant changes in their responsibilities. Shri Jitendra Singh Gangwar the serving Director General of Police (DGP), Civil Defence, Bihar Police, has been relieved of his additional charge as DGP, Headquarters, Patna. Shri Kundan Krishnan, who recently returned from central deputation, has been appointed as Additional Director General, Headquarters, Patna. Meanwhile, Shri Pankaj Kumar Darad, previously ADG of the Anti-Terrorist Squad with an additional role in the Special Vigilance Unit, has been transferred as ADG, Law & Order, retaining additional charge of Bihar SVU. The list of officers and their newly assigned roles is as follows –

  1. Shri Jitendra Singh Gangwar IPS (Bihar 1993), presently, Director General of Police (DG), Civil Defence Bihar Police, with additional charge as DG, Headquarter, Patna, Bihar, is relieved from the additional charge of DG, Headquarter, Patna, Bihar.
  2. Shri Kundan Krishnan IPS (Bihar 1994), upon return from Central Deputation is appointed Additional Director General of Police (ADG) – Headquarters, Patna, Bihar.
  3. Shri Pankaj Kumar Darad IPS (Bihar 1995), presently, ADG – Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS), with additional charge of ADG – Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), is transferred and appointed as ADG – Law & Order, with additional charge of ADG – Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), Bihar Police.
  4. Shri Sanjay Singh IPS (Bihar 1997), presently, ADG – Law & Order, is transferred and appointed as ADG – Training, Bihar Police.
  5. Shri Shalin IPS (Bihar 2001), presently, Inspector General (IG), Bihar Special Armed Police, with additional charge of IG, Special Task Force (STF), is transferred and appointed as IG – Anti Terrorist Squad with additional charge of IG – Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP).
  6. Shri Vivek Kumar IPS (Bihar 2007), presently Deputy Inspector General (DIG) – CID, Bihar Police, is transferred and appointed as DIG – Eastern Range, Bhagalpur, Bihar Police.
  7. Shri Vivekanand IPS (Bihar 2008), presently DIG, Eastern Range, Bhagalpur, is transferred and appointed as DIG – STF, Bihar Police.
